Germinations galore

Second week of germination period ended with 16 additional seeds. Most of the germinated seeds by the end of second week on the wet coffee filter had significantly more developed structure. After the first week four out of 8 planted seeds had just barely visible white growth. This week 8 were fully formed white stems:

For the next 4 seeds I changed the initial watering from 10ml of distilled water to 1/2 cup of "Root and Grow" plant starter:

The concentrated blue liquid was diluted per instructions and half a cup poured on top of the soil in the planting pot. Also this time I used a bit more potting mix than the top soil. Potting mix is much fluffier than the top soil. The soil is very dark, almost black:

While the mix is light brown:

For the first eight seeds I used 1:1 ratio of soil and mix, for the next four that I am doing today I used twice as much light brown mix than the dark top soil.

I did not pre-mix the two dirt sources. Instead, I simply put two scoops of one and then one scoop of the other, pack them lightly with a stick and continue till the PVC tube was full.

For completeness sake: here is what the PVC looked from above and below prior to adding soil:

The longest four seeds were planted in a very wet soil. The idea is to wait for as along as it needs for the soil to dry out before next watering.

Twelve tubes now have seeds planted:

And an extreme zoom-in on sample #1:

Four more germinated seeds were planted in a pure plant mix, which was very light. Sprayed with a mist of Root and Grow fertilizer. Here is a summary of all initial conditions for 16 samples:
