As a response to this event I added an oscillating fan in hopes of removing some water from the top level of soil. I also setup a de-humidifier to keep the humidity at 60%.
After a trip to Yosemite in Summer of 2012, I caught a "sequoia bug". I am attempting to grow my own sequoia from seeds. These sequoias (Sequoiadendron Giganteum) will be grown in Iowa, which is Zone 5, a harsh environment for sequoia.

Number One is dying
Emotional times, no doubt. By the end of Sunday #1 started showing all too familiar signs of over-watering. Since a few days ago it started to have a brown line on the under side of the green leaves and Sunday afternoon it started to lean on its side. In just a few hours it's now lying completely on ground:
